
Sometimes clients have unrealistic expectations and don’t always know what to expect. Sometimes designers have trouble fully explaining what type of work they will provide within the client’s requests. This might help both sides of the equation understand each other just a bit better.

I hear this comment a few times a year — a client is unclear as to why I won’t simply charge them by the hour, sometimes by fifteen-minute increments.
